Mosquitero Project founder To Speak at Rotary

Key Biscayne Rotarian Steve Baker will be the guest speaker at the March 22 Rotary Club of Coconut Grove luncheon. Steve started the Mosquitero Project that has distributed thousands of treated mosquito nets to indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin of Venezuela and Peru, areas that have largely been overlooked by other anti-malaria programs. As a result, malaria in these areas has been reduced by more than 80%.

The Rotary Club meets every Thursday at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, 2990 South Bayshore Drive, at 12:30 pm. The cost of the meeting is $25 with lunch or $15 without lunch. Everyone interested in the life-saving Mosquitero Project is welcome to attend.
