Development Issues seminar in the West Grove

A Free Community Seminar Open to the Public on Development Issues and Options for theWest Grove is being held on Saturday, February 3.

Registration begins at 10:00 am and the seminar starts at 10:30 am. It ends at 12:30 pm, and refreshments will be provided as well as networking opportunities. 

A review of student development concepts will be discussed. 

Frank Schnidman, J.D.; LL.M., Former Distinguished Professor of Urban and Regional Planning and Former John M. DeGrove Eminent Scholar Chair, Florida Atlantic University along with 25 Florida Atlantic University Civil Engineering students have been working the past year on the design of buildings for specific sites in the West Grove that actually cannot only be built under current rules, but are designed in recognition of the concerns of the residents of the West Grove. These five presentations actually will provide participants with actual concepts of what can be built and how it can look—concepts that are site specific, but can be applied in modified form to similar sites at other locations in the West Grove.

Two of the projects are completed, and at the mid-way point, were presented to the Ministerial Alliance. Three of the projects are at the mid-way point, and additional community input is desired.

Keynote Address will be given by Mayor Francis Suarez called, 
“The Challenges and Opportunities Facing the West Grove.”
