Visiting the Peacock Inn
I never realized it was so large before, but you can see the people on the veranda in this photo by comparison. This photo below is how I always picture the Peacock Inn, this is Christmas Day 1886.
I would love to see what it looked like inside, you know, the common areas and the hotel rooms; probably like something you see on Gunsmoke or Maverick ,I guess.

Nice photos and posting. If it had been located in Savannah or Charleston and had not burned down it would probably still be standing and be a treasured landmark. Probably a museum, wonderful restaurant or romantic guest house. Being in the the Grove, we are lucky the park wasn't sold to a developer to build another shopping center, gated complex or luxury condo towers.
Lovely pictures! It was Ralph Munroe who gave the idea to the Peacocks to build their inn right in that spot, close to Biscayne Bay. Thank you for them.
