Building the new Starbucks; changes at CocoWalk
While this is being constructed, there will be changes in the interim. Starbucks is moving across the street. They started renovating the 3400 Main Highway building for Starbucks today.
We're not getting a third Starbucks (one being near Monty's on South Bayshore Drive and the other across from here at CocoWalk). The CocoWalk location will be moving across the street, hopefully by summer.
CocoWalk is going through major renovations and a lot of shuffling will be going on in the next few months. The Cheesecake factory is leaving at the end of the month, they are having their staff farewell party this weekend. Lots of changes in our little village.

Renderings of CocoWalk look awesome. We'll be lucky if it ends up looking like that. Hopefully there isn't any value engineering. Glad to see the very 1990s style of CocoWalk updated. Hopefully Cinepolis does some interior upgrades to stay competitive with the theaters opening downtown.
Excellent - talk about an upgrade for that corner. Is duffy's going to stay?
The first rendering of CocoWalk shows a storefront called Providore. Will this be the same owners as the food emporium in Portland, OR?
Looks great! Glad to say "arrivederci" to the monster that was there. Hope for refined finishes. And as above, hope Cinepolis has been to the Landmark at Merrick Park and will update their brand.
This looks great. Much needed update. I wonder how long it will take to do these changes? Will it remain partially open during remodel?
also starbucks is a great update for that corner, much better use of space than the coldwell banker office was.
What about Duffy's? Any truth to the rumor it may re locate to Mr. Moe"s?
The new CocoWalk design is an homage to the new boxy houses infesting Coconut Grove's neighborhoods.
Update looks good I like what they are doing BUT, this is what i have been told. Only bottom floor is for commercial use, and the current retailers on the second floor cannot pay the extra rent at the bottom floor. I am worried there will not be enough of retail commercial space to bring people in to the limited number of shops, if the idea is have people work and go down for lunch. What about the weekend and tourist less commercial places to visit it. I have seen also increase in rent by the other landlord in an effort to take advantage of the need to relocate the 2nd floor businesses. Duffy;s last I herd was going to Mr. Moes. I hear there is litigation going on or real in depth talks between Ufit and Cocowalk. Victoria Se crests space is expected to be the lobby of the office buildings. As to BICE I hope they get the main spot for the restaurant. I do like the upgrade I just HOPE they keep to heart all the commercial retailers that have been there for years and assist them not just through them to the curve. Cocowalk could not have survived with out them.
Is Duffy going to inherit 5:00am liquor license at Mr. Moe's? Removing 5:00 liquor license was the last nail in the coffin which turned the Grove into a ghost town some years ago. It took years to recover from that stupidity and could have kept CocoWalk afloat.
and guess who our commissioner was when that law was changed?
