Join Saturday's free historic bicycle tour of the Grove
Meet in front of City Hall at 9:30 am (3500 Pan American Drive), the ride goes until 12:30 pm.
Bike the central district of Coconut Grove, among the most historic locations in Southeast Florida. The first stop will be the waterfront at Peacock Park, the original "Jack's Bight." Hear the tales of lighthouse keepers, war and peace with the Seminoles, hardy mariners and isolated homesteaders. Cruise down to The Barnacle, home of distinguished resident, photographer and sailboat designer Commodore Ralph Munroe.
Then take a look at the dynamic neighborhoods just north of the Grove's business district. Among diminutive early-century cottages and grand Conch-style homes, view Modern Tropical, Arquitectonica, and many other recent architectural styles.
