Saving the tree canopy
Here's something ironic, a story in Community Newspapers titled, "Knight Foundation, county join to increase urban tree canopy." Interesting, considering that they are doing nothing to protect the canopy in Coconut Grove, allowing greed to prevail - kill a tree, slap their hands and pay a fine, that's how it is in the Grove.
The Knight Foundation and Miami-Dade County have supported the Million Trees Miami initiative, an effort to plant 1 million trees by 2020. Perhaps if they stopped the greedy developers, they would be way ahead of the game.
