Obama was in town; traffic was a bitch

I was coming home from pizza night last night and roads were blocked in Coconut Grove. Douglas was blocked at Ingram Road and traffic had to go through the Edgewater Drive neighborhood to come back out at LeJeune Road and take that to US1 and so on. I think Obama was at a dinner on St. Gaudens Road, wonder if it was at the house that was slated to be destroyed and now it housed the President of the United States. If it was, people can now say of the historic house, "Obama ate here."

The Grove has been popular with Obama over the years and Joe Biden usually stays at a house near Vizcaya, back near where Madonna used to live. So we're quite popular with the leaders of the free world.

Don't think this is an interesting news story, well check this in today's NY Daily News, is this newsworthy? Police officer caught staring at woman's backside, link here. They made a story out of it, saw it on Facebook. There's a small video. #notnewsworthy

But they do have a great front page today as shown here.

You are correct about VP Biden. One Sunday morning we were taking a walk on S. Bayshore towards the park when all of a sudden this large black Escalade-like car does a u-turn while a swarm of runners heads directly towards us. In the middle of the pack was Biden, followed by a secret service/runner carrying a large phone/box (the nuclear hotline?). No sooner had we caught our breath then a second pack comes charging down S. Bayshore, with Jill Biden in the middle. Quite a Sunday morning in the Grove experience. PS sorry you got stuck in the Obama traffic. We stayed home to avoid the madness.

We are so lucky to live in the Grove. Amazing the number of negative people out there.

Presidential motorcades are always overkill, regardless of the president. You would think the cargo was the last homosapien couple left on earth who can reproduce.

Thank goodness Jeb! and Rubio crashed and burned, else we would be in weekly gridlock.
