Rivet Nation went Steampunk for the day

Our Grove friend Sheri Friedman of Blu Moon Studio (now at Cauley Square), and Nadia Desjardins and their friends down at Cauley Square put on a great event this past weekend. On Sunday, Rivet Nation took over the little village and Steampunk was the fashion. Here are Sheri and Grovite Atena De Jong. Atena won first prize for her elaborate hat.

The Square become somewhat gothic and a lot 19th century when people came dressed for the occasion. There were tables and booths set up and music and food.

It was a trip back in time. Steampunk is a science fiction-style from the 19th century, where steam powered machinery parts were made into fashion. Gears, watches, rivets, lights, whatever was new at the time was fashionable.

Exotic art and food were part of the day along with music from the bards.

Exotic acrobats and exotic steampunk films were shown. There was a tea party and a full day of activities.

Looks like GREAT FUN in The Hinterlands !!!
Can't we move Cauley Square to The Grove,
where it belongs.

Can't really say it belongs in the Grove. Sheri was in the Grove for a long time, but moved to Cauley Square because she was driven out by high rents and bad attitudes from developers.

The Grove lost a gem when that Group drove out Blu Moon out. The Grove is dimmer because of it. We miss you,
Sheri!
