Bottle & Bottega, the new BYOB painting space

The last time I remember anything like this was at AnnaMaria's Windisch-Hunt Gallery or Sheri Friedman's Blu Moon Studio, both Grove memories now. Maris Sotsky, new Grovite, has opened Bottle & Bottega, a fun, casual experience that is an alternative to a typical night out, the usual celebratory event, or a stale team-building session. The adults-only classes (liquor is involved) provide all the art supplies and a professional artist as your instructor who will guide you along the way to creating your creation. I love how everyone sees the same subject and interprets it all in their own way.

You create your own canvas among friends and take home your creation at the end of the class. They offer a variety of art experiences and media including mural painting, wine and beer glass painting, live models and more.

You are more than welcome to bring your own wine to the classes, which basically is the concept, they'll provide the glasses.

Bottle & Bottega hosts public events most nights of the week. You can get info and register here. Contact Maris who will help you plan a private event to celebrate a birthday, graduation, or any special occasion. They also host corporate retreats and events for team-building, and offer event rentals for people looking for space for social gatherings.

Maris has worked with local restaurants as well such as Vinos in the Grove, Sandbar and the former Calamari to host offsite art events and can also come onsite to do an event in a home or at an office. I'm thinking this would be really cool for an upcoming Chamber networker.

On Saturday, March 19,  Shepherd Help and Rescue Effort, Inc. will host a fundraiser at Bottle & Bottega, participants are invited to bring a photo of their own dog to paint.

Register online by going to the page here, and clicking on the SHARE RESCUE event on March 19. Registration is $45 per person. Space is limited, so be sure to get your tickets early.

Bottle & Bottega is located at 2765 SW 27 Avenue. For info: 786-505-9344.

My wife took me here for Valentine's Day. It was a lot of fun, and enjoyable for even the beginner like me. The wine helps!
