Lots going on with Bike Coconut Grove

During March and early April the Grove will be the scene of lots of activities and events related to Bike Coconut Grove's basic mission of making Coconut Grove safer and more convenient for bicyclists and pedestrians. Here's a quick rundown:

Friday, March 4, 7:30-9 am - Bike to Work Day.
In partnership with Arquitectonica, the event sponsor, Bike Coconut Grove will host a free breakfast for people who bike to or from work in Coconut Grove. The breakfast will be at the Bookstore in the Grove, 3390 Mary St. Your bike helmet is your ticket of admission.

Sunday, March 6, noon-5 pm - Gifford Lane Art Stroll.
Bike Coconut Grove will provide free bike valet parking for this "only in the Grove" afternoon of art, fun, food, and music. Look for our bike corral on the swale near the Kirk Munroe tennis courts where Gifford meets Oak.

Wednesday, March 16, 7-9:30 pm - Exclusive Miami screening of an exciting new documentary film, "Bikes vs. Cars" at the Cinepolis Cinema in CocoWalk. This is a fundraiser to benefit Bike Coconut Grove sponsored by the Terra Group. "Bikes vs. Cars" tells the story of how five major world cities are struggling to deal with issues of traffic and congestion and how bicycling does or doesn't fit into the picture. The cities are Los Angeles, Sao Paolo, Bogota, Copenhagen, and Toronto.

The $25 tax-deductible ticket price includes refreshments and wine/beer beginning at 7. Film begins at 8. Free bike valet parking in the Cocowalk Garage (Grand Ave. entrance). Limited seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Register and purchase tickets here

Saturday, April 2, 9 am to 12 noon -  Bike the Underline
"Spirit of the Grove" extravaganza at the Coconut Grove Metrorail station. Working closely with Glenn Terry and the Mango Republic, Bike Coconut Grove is organizing games and activities to celebrate the spirit of the Grove.
