Armando's work invokes the Simplicity of Nature

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is February 13-15, 2016. We'll be profiling some of the artists and performers who are participating this year.

You may remember Armando Colls from the Mad Hatter Festival this past fall, Armando is back in the Grove again this winter at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival.

Armando, born and raised in Miami, is a photographer who is back for his second year at the Grove Festival, his first was in 2014.

His first piece he ever sold was #1 of 7 "Infinity" pieces, sold at his first show in 2013, it has sold out since then.

Armando has won two Best of Shows and one Second Place. Many of you may recognize his work from other Florida shows.

"We were invited by a gallery to exhibit at the New York Art Expo last year, but most of our shows so far have been in Florida," he says. "I am a mechanical contractor by trade, although my goal is to do this full time in about three more years," continued Armando.

I asked Armando who is favorite artist is, not surprisingly he responded, "Ansel Adams and Clyde Butcher." The above image is called, "Simplicity in Blue."

His motto is "Always chase the light!"
Armando said, "I have grown up in and around the water in South Florida, and most of my work involves either ocean or the Everglades. I photograph what most take for granted, I photograph what is in our incredible 'backyard,' I photograph Mother Nature. I try and show not only beautiful scenery but also invoke emotion, peace, tranquility, serenity and the Simplicity of Nature."

The above image is called "The Dance."
