9 Historic sites in Coconut Grove
The Barnacle, Peacock Park, the Woman's Club (shown here), the Playhouse, are a few on the list.
The Grove has so much history, it's a shame that only nine are left to talk about, but they are a great nine. I'm having lunch with Arva this week, so we'll put our heads together and try to come up with a 1oth and maybe an 11th location and I'll report back.

How about the one-room school house on the Plymouth Church Campus? How about Plymouth Church itself?
Ace Theatre
August Saint Gaudens house
Taurus
Your list needs to be more inclusive. There are more than 9 historic sites in the Grove. Your list does not include any in West Grove- there are quite a few. Please advise Avra- many thanks.

It is shameful that only nine sites in Coconut Grove have been identified as historic, considering how long the village has been in existence. It is even more shameful that not even one site in Village West is mentioned, and we have several to boast about -- Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church (the oldest African-American church in Miami-Dade County; the E.W.F. Stirrup homestead; the Mariah Brown House, and Christ Episcopal Church, St. Paul AME Church and St. James Baptist Church (all of which are churches that have reached or well surpassed the 100th anniversary mark), etc. Que pasa?
I don't think Arva's list was meant to be comprehensive. There is also the issue of local historic designation vs National Register.
for example, Vizcaya isn't mentioned on her short list.
As for the anon comment suggestion Ace, Taurus and August (sic) St Gaudens house... Not sure how Ace has been kept; current Taurus is nothing like the original Tea House; and the St Gaudens house was torn down to build the more recently torn down DuPont mansion. The sculptor's name was Augustus, who died soon after the house was built. His wife Augusta lived there for a bit, and after that their son Homer kept it.
