Javier Gonzalez is one of the group running for the District 2 Commission seat. I asked him the "10 With Tom" questions yesterday, here are his answers.
What did you have for breakfast?
Pumpernickel toast with Butter and Jam, black Coffee.
Favorite restaurant in Coconut Grove?
My house (I was a pro baker) but when out; Sapore di Mare, Berries and Mango Man.
What will you do the first day on the job as Commissioner?
HA! Change the locks, burn the furniture, explain to Sue that it's not a dream and sit back, pour a really good single malt and watch a few VERY high paid lobbyist heads explode…..should be a lot of fun.
Favorite Coconut Grove yearly event?
I would say the King Mango Strut BUT what I also think is cool are all the running events that come through the Grove.
Where would you live if you had to leave Miami?
NY with a summer pad in St. Thomas, VI
Chocolate, vanilla or strawberry?
Chocolate but my Dad loved "Napolitano" because he felt it was a better deal….
Last book you read?
"Ketchup Soup" by my friend Jim Houck….who after reading it, I realized he needs Meds.
Favorite tv show?
Hmm? "This week with John Oliver" is fun but so are old shows like "Get Smart"……missed it by this much!
What do you usually order at Starbucks?
Double Expresso, black
What talent would you most like to have?
Remembering names, I'm really bad at it…and thanks for the questions Fred!

Did not know that about you. Next time you door canvas for the election bring cookies!.... btw - tried to explain "Get Smart" to my nephew and he thought I was nuts explaining the first cell phone was in a shoe.
