What if you threw a party and no one showed up?
I was told that about 15 of the usual suspects attended, basically the people who were either obligated or those who depend on the Commissioner for their livelihood -- local developers, hangers on and city employees who were probably told to show up.
The employees at Greenstreet didn't have a clue about the event earlier in the day. And I hate how this puts a black eye on Greenstreet, you know, being part of this campaign by simply just being used for the venue.
It ended up being a few friends having happy hour, congratulating each other, over what, I don't know, selling out the village, I guess. The other bunch of District 2 candidates don't seem to have anything to worry about and it may just end up being them battling each other for the vote as there aren't many supporters for Teresa.

Do not underestimate what $500,000 plus dollars in campaign funds, and along with a brought and paid for Absentee Ballot operation can accomplish. Folks who really want to be rid of the Sarnoff's have to stay focused, donate to their candidates, and most importantly, cast their own Absentee Ballots at the very first opportunity.
The Developers and the City Hall RFP gang showed up? That's all she needs to buy another Sarnoff win.
I didn't know Green Street is the political epicenter of Coconut Grove...
Does anyone else have events there?
Do you know how many boleteras you can buy for that kind of money. It's how Rick Scott won. Regalado certainly did it too - the funny part there being that he's just the kind of dopey, senile, easiily confused old man who's ballots are bought and sold.
I guarantee 90% of Sarnoff votes in this election will be absentee ballots.
I haven't found a single person yet - even people who say they know and like her - who thinks she is a real candidate who could handle the job.
She's a small scale Hillary Clinton. What has she done that qualifies her for the job she's seeking?
I attended the event.. it was great to see a lot of people there. The place was crowded. A mixture of culture and very happy people supporting Teresa Sarnoff.
Poster above says "the place was crowded" (didn't look like that from MY table) and attendees were "a mixture of culture." Were they wearing name tags saying 'Hi, I'm Peruvian"? or "I am an ethnic person from far away"? ;-)
Poster above,
Yes the place was crowed since 6:00 pm to 7:30 Pm when I left. All tables were taken. People were waiting at the doors to get in. It is not necessary to were a tag to identify people ethnicity. Like it or not, the event was a success. Stop lying.
It's sad that Commissioner Sarnoff and his City paid staffer would take the time to come here to tell tall tales. The event was "well attended" considering the tiny space allotted for it. This is a very old political trick. Hold your event in the smallest possible room so it will appear "jam packed" if only a few people show up...
Grace Solares spoke at City Hall on June 25th. She was testifying against the media towers. She won. Two other candidates attended the hearing but neither spoke. Teresa Sarnoff was, as usual, a no-show.
Teresa Sarnoff is a no-show at every meeting and hearing of importance. Absent. Apathetic.
