'sideways EIGHT' opens at FrameWorks gallery

As always, FrameWorks is a big part of FAM Night (the first Saturday Gallery Walk, Music Night - FAM - Fashion + Art + Music). This month they featured "sideways EIGHT," an art show curated by Maitejosune Urrechaga, art teacher at Terra Environmental Institute in Kendall;  her husband Tony Kapel who is print manager and artist coordinator at FrameWorks.

"
In the Middle Ages, 8 was the number of "unmoving" stars in the sky, and symbolized the perfection of incoming planetary energy," says Maitejosune. This particular show consists of art from all female advanced placement art students:  Marcela Aldunate, Kristen Baldaccini, Grace Cope, Stefani Dupuy, Camila Gonzalez, Airah Hernandez, Yarelis Machin and Lourdes Nunez. There's more on Maitejosune's art projects at TERRAtory.net.

Augustina Quesada, Emily Boulos and Nicholas Quesada.
Nadau Ascione, Nicole Slimak and Thomas Boulos.
The end of the block on Commodore Plaza is quite lively on FAM Night. From FrameWorks down to Lokal, with The Loft in between, they have their own little thing going on.
When I first arrived, I was greeted by Cris Sweeny and her daughter, Sage, out on the corner on a red motorcycle.

The "sideways EIGHT" exhibit is at FrameWorks throughout the month, they are located at 3196 Commodore Plaza.
