Shell Lumber receives prestigious award

Solar Dogs perform during Howl in the Wood at Shell Lumber.
"Coconut Grove, Florida-based Shell Lumber & Hardware will accept the Tools of the Trade Award at the 2015 Golden Hammer Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas May 5 during the National Hardware Show," says the Hardware and Building Supply Dealer blog.

Shell Lumber "
captures the spirit of independent retailing and makes the most of technology, marketing and human resources." Plus they are excellent neighbors and a big part of the community. They are involved in almost every major event that's held in Coconut Grove. They donate items, tools, space and their time (and even their truck) to almost all Grove events. From the King Mango Strut to Howl in the Wood and even hosting Shakespeare in the Park, Shell has been there for all of them, they are a big help with bed building during Bed Race season and they are always there to help when asked, and even when they aren't asked.

Congratulations, Shell Lumber & Hardware!

Their only big mistake over the years is their support for the worst public official in Miami.

In addition to all those things, the sales people are really nice, really helpful, and know how to solve problems.

CONGRATULATIONS Jesus, and the entire Shell Lumber staff. You well deserve this award. Coconut Grove is so fortunate to have you as one of it's very best neighbors. Long live Shell Lumber!

It's unfortunate that they support Sarnoff's crooked ways. I only go in there as an absolute last resort and am always happen when they don't have what I need.

Shell Lumber can completely redeem itself by putting its full weight behind other candidates (not the Sarnoff dynasty)

Look at Teresa Sarnoff's campaign report online, H&H Jewelers, Terra Group, Peter Gardner of Pointe Group have generously contributed along with loads of developers, architects. Folks it seems money is going to be elected again unless you decide to participate in democracy and vote rather than believe the lies they WILL start broadcasting to you.

Love Shell Lumber. Excellent place to shop. Plus, free popcorn and coffee!

(Does every single Grapevine post require a Sarnoff comment? I feel sad for those folks. Seriously.)

Tony what were your group's findings regarding seceding from Miami?

Thank you for asking.

Unfortunately the result of our 2007 effort was nothing. We made the mistake of forming a committee and the momentum faded due to a lack of cohesion.

The 1925 vote by the entire city to annex the small village would probably be overturned if brought before a judge today.

The ballot box was obviously stuffed.

Tony, will you be voting for Sarnoff II?

I assume so, self interest and all.

Self interest? In all fairness, make yourself known before you talk about self interest.
