We had a ball at the Gifford Lane Art Stroll
The Gifford Lane Art Stroll (this was the 17th year) is the place where you run into people that you haven't seen in a while. Above are a bunch of Grovites who have lived here from the 1960s and 1970s, from left, Joyce Hanly, Bobbie Ingram, M. Peggy Quatro and Martha Kent with Glenn Terry in back. Peggy took all day to set this photo up, a couple of more people left the event before they could be part of the picture.
I had a lot of nice talks with people, there were a few of the people who are running for commissioner present and other people who wanted to talk about the changes taking place in the village, along with politics and such. I met some new people, which was nice and we listened to great music by the Solar Dogs and Ronnie Brooks and others. I enjoyed a lot of the cucumber punch and gelato pops from the little Bianco Gelato stand also conch fritters and lots of other stuff.

This year’s Gifford Lane Art Stroll was by far one of the very best. Plenty to see and do, wonderful shade, many friends, eclectic art, refreshing cucumber punch, plenty of enjoyable music and fun for all. Musician Bobby Ingraham said it best from the Solar Dog stage…“I guess you are the locals that chose not to attend the Coconut Grove Art Fair”. How refreshing to attend an “Authentic Grove Event”. No fence, no entrance fee, no overpriced art or refreshments, no product placement, no representatives pushing flyers at you, no need for a platoon of police officers. Thank you one and all for your efforts in continuing to organize this Grove event. And especially a big thank you goes to Nathan.
... What Harry said. ^^
We are the Little Art Fest That Could. All forms of artistic talent on display, locals selling to locals, live music you can dance to, reunions & conversations, & cucumber punch that we ran out of wayyy toooo soooon... a perfect day on the perfect street for an art stroll...Thanks to everyone who came & thanks Tom & the Grapevine for sharing great pics & fun stories! See you at next year's Stroll!
I had a great time and enjoyed every minute. Thanks Tom for taking the photos even though I look like a crazy lady with the psychedelic colors and my new best friend Max the blue and gold maccaw
Nothing more authentic than the Coconut Grove Art Festival. The stroll has nothing on them!
