Terra Group obtains Summer Hill Apartments
Interesting story in South Florida Business Journal. Terra Group obtained the apartment building at 2678 Tigertail, that's the Summer Hill Apartments.
Lots of memories there at the apartments, they go so far back we must all have stories to tell about the place. I never lived there, but I know so many people who have over the years.
Terra Group is building those new twisty towers at the former Grand Bay Hotel location and they're partners in building the Park Grove towers on the Coconut Grove Bank lot.
I did wonder over the years how the Summer Hill Apartments lasted there so long, right in the middle of other big developments. It's so glaring as being out of place especially when you drive by on the South Bayshore Drive side. It's weird to call it out of place since it's probably the last remaining piece of 1960s history left in that area of Coconut Grove. It's really not historic other than the memories there, it's not a pretty place or even a landmark other than in our minds. But that building, the Expo Center and the Coconut Grove Bank all come from that same time period. Lots of ghosts there.
