Sapore di Mare is ready to serve you

The new Italian seafood restaurant Sapore di Mare, opens tonight, Monday, at 6 pm. The former Focaccia location at 3111 Grand Avenue looked larger and brighter when we stopped in earlier today. There's now an open kitchen area and many more tables.

The whole Focaccia lunch and dinner menu has been changed and other than the location, the whole concept is different. It's very clean and white inside, tables are set with white china and linen, there's olive oil for dipping on each table.

Antipastis start at $14 and go up to $21.

The main dinner menu starts at $19.50 and goes up to $25. It's basically all wrapped around seafood including dishes like Spaghetti con aragosta (spaghetti with lobster); and black ink risotto cooked with clamari; and homemade pasta stuffed with lobster and burrata cheese cooked with cherry tomatoes.

There are items for meat eaters, too, like Ravioli di carne - homemade ravioli stuffed with meat cooked wtih sauteed mushrooms.

There are salads and sides like roasted potatoes, seasoned veggies and shrimp.

They offer a dessert of the day also Tiramisu and Torta di macarpone and limoncello.

The lunch menu has similar items. Basically it's Italian seafood of all types prepared by Matteo Paderni and his wife Gioryia, who were all excited today, preparing everything for their first guests tonight.

I loved Facaccia, their prices were a little steep, looking forward to this new Italian sea food place.
