Volunteers needed for annual coastal clean-up

The Miami-Dade Coastal Clean-Up is Saturday, September 20, this year.

The clean-up is from 9 am to noon, there are various locations along the coast where you can volunteer. Right after the clean-up there is the usual Volunteer Appreciation Party. The event is sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy.

The clean-up is a worldwide event, held the third Saturday in September. Over 100 countries will spend that morning collecting litter and debris on coastal areas including lakes and rivers.

You can register as a group by calling 305-372-3300. They'll recommend a site that can accommodate your group.

Peacock Park, Kenneth Myers Park and Kennedy Park are three sites in Coconut Grove, but there is a full list at their website here, which also includes all the rest of the info you might need, including signing up and donating.
