New gym, new coffee, new bank, new restaurant . . .
I recently broke the story about Panther Coffee's arrival into Coconut Grove and also The Eating House taking the Glass House location in Peacock Park. The Eating House was confirmed to me yesterday by someone on the selection committee. Panther Coffee is working away in their new location, getting it ready for an opening by the end of this year.
Now two new arrivals to CocoWalk will add to the new business vibe. You Fit Health Club is opening early next year in a second floor location. This is the club you see on tv in those commercials touting their $10 per month membership! Love that. Looks like 24 Hour Fitness across the street is going to have to lower their rates and/or clean up the joint to compete.
They offer classes during the week and an express easy-to-follow work out that you can do yourself. There are personal trainers and all the amenties you would expect from a full service gym. Can't wait for this one.
You Fit took a 17,000 square foot location and a 10-year lease.
Chase Bank is also coming to CocoWalk in January 2015. Their ATM machines are Chase, now the actual bank will be on site.
One of our favorite new places, Bianco Gelato on Commodore Plaza is talking about adding a small European-style breakfast/brunch and possible light lunches during the week. We'll let you know how that progresses.
They've lowered the price on the Affogato al Coffee. It's $5.00 now. Really worth it, I had it as one of my favorite things a couple of weeks ago. Every time I go to Bianco, I leave with a sugar high. I'll usually get the Affogato but then Federico and Carla have me try different things and I'm then all sugared out. Try the new gelato pops. Love them. And my friend and I tried the caramel, that's delicious, too.

How exciting - just drove though the Business district today and was thinking I am feeling a strong vibe, good things to come.
Good to see some competition for 24 hour. That place is horrible. Bad news for their landlord. 24 hour will last maybe 24 days...
Parking will be interesting around the area during the peak gym times (7-9AM and 5-7PM). I guess gym members will get free parking in Cocowalk...
