Craft Spirit Festival week begins Wednesday

There are so many things going on in October, it seems. Starting the month off is The Craft Spirits Festival, which is returning  for its second year. The festival is an exhibit of original craft, small batch and artisanal spirts in Miami.

The week-long series of events runs from October 1 to 9 and will focus not only on celebrating and educating the public on craft spirits, but on craft cocktails as well. Seminars, tours, parties, happy hours, cocktail dinners and industry/VIP only events are all part of the festival around Miami.

To kick off the week, there is a fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation - it's called "Women, Whiskey & Wieners," it's is about having a great time, with great old and new friends, and raising awareness. during Breast Cancer Month. There are raffles and prizes. The event is Wednesday, October 1 at The Mighty at 2224 Coral Way. It starts at 7 pm.

The Grand Tasting will take place on Thursday, October 9 from 7 to 11 pm at the Cruz Building on Commodore Plaza. This event will showcase 100 plus distinct spirits including whiskies, rums, vodkas, gins and other spirits and beverages. Attendees will be able to enjoy these unlimited samples plus fine inspired hors d' oeuvres by some of the best local chefs in Miami including some Coconut Grove favorites like TK's at the Villa Mayfair, La Gamba and Strada.
