Goodbye, Sandy

Was shocked to see this image on Instagram last week. Sandy leaving The Bookstore in the Grove? Leaving Felice? Feels like Shirley leaving Laverne. 

We'll miss her, but she'll be around town, so that's good. She left this message on the bookstores' website:  

Adios dear Bookstore!! I’m off and running to the next chapter of my life, but before I go, I must say thank you to all of the customers that I have interacted with and helped over the last seven years. We have talked about books, we’ve discussed authors we love and we hate, we have browsed through beautiful art books and amazing children’s picture books. In short, we have connected over the joy of reading and the love of books. And on a perfect day, I have sent you home with something you’re so excited to have.
Many thanks to Felice, who has been a good friend and a stalwart business partner, and to the staff who has worked so hard during many long days and nights in the bookstore. It has been a blast, and I will miss you all so very much. I’ll be around, and sure to see many faces in the Grove. Let me just finish by quoting George R.R. Martin of Game of Thrones fame “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies…. The man who never reads lives only one.”
