Summer Music Camp starts next week

There is still time to enroll your kids in the Summer Music Camp which starts June 23 at the Miami Conservatory of Music (MCM).

This is perfect for children with no musical background and for those who are already involved. MCM has groups for ages 5-7 and ages 8 and up. There are three one week sessions: June 23-27; July 21-25 and August 4-8 from 9:30 am to 4 pm.

For younger children MCM features "Music Discovery" where they will enjoy hands on opportunities to explore a variety of instruments like piano, guitar, violin, voice and percussion with the guidance of professional musicians. On the final day parents can come and see them perform for the first time on their instruments!

The "Making Music" group lets children 8 and older learn and play different instruments and compose their own music which will be recorded on a computer. At the end of the camp students showcase their talent and present a mini-musical production.
