GroveHouse Artists opening exhibit

On Wednesday, June 18, the GroveHouse Artists will be having an art premier at the Deering Estate. It still confounds me how the GroveHouse Artists, with such a rich history in Coconut Grove, are no longer part of the Grove. 

Most of the artists create out of love, they are not running a full time business, it would be so nice if maybe one of the large corporations and developers moving into the village would donate a small amount of space for the artists. Their galleries always brought lots of people to the village during art nights and shows. They had all sorts of contests and en plein air events and it was always buzzing around here on intake days, when the artists would bring their art for the next show.

The Deering opening exhibit this week is from 7 to 9 pm, it's free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through July 25, 2014.

Artists include Perri Cox, Pauline Goldsmith, Ariel Guerra, Bobbi Headder, Barbara Tejada, Marina Urban and so many more.
