Art, live music, ethnic food, all at Viernes Culturales
Viernes Culturales is back tonight, Friday, June 27 from 7 to 11 pm. It's a monthly thing, the last Friday of each month. The event is on SW 8th Street (Calle Ocho) from SW 13th Avenue to SW 18th Avenue. You may know some of the aritists and crafts people who are from or who have passed through the Grove at various art shows and Gallery Walks.
Enjoy the local restaurants and bars. Live performances on the street at the Mobile Micro Theater include Caril Paura at 7:30; Art by Belly Dance/Belly2abs at 9:00 and Orq. Seleccion Latina at 9:30.
It's the 14th anniversary of Dr. Paul George's history walking tours of Little Havana. This month's tour is called "The Near Northwest" and it will take you along 17th Avenue to Flagler Street. Meet in front of Tower Theater (1508 SW 8th Street) at 7 pm. The tour is free. This is their version of the drum circle -- conga drums.
And don't forget to stop in Azucar! the ice cream place. It's right across from the Tower Theater.
You can see a very long list of events, galleries and more that are all happening in one night here.
