Young Artists perform to sold out crowd
Since their first public performance in October 2013, the FGO Young Artists have had an amazing season in South Florida. From main stage performances, including our “Unexpected Opera” No Exit, to more than 130 outreach and educational performances in between, our 2013-2014 class of Young Artists have truly risen to the occasion. "I am so proud of their hard work and dedication and wish them the best in their very bright futures” commented Susan Danis, General Director and CEO of Florida Grand Opera.
Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist Program has gained worldwide recognition as one of the leading operatic training programs in the United States. The program provides talented young singers with an opportunity to refine the skills developed during formal music education, targeting those areas necessary to develop a successful career in opera.
Florida Grand Opera (FGO), the oldest performing arts organization in Florida, celebrates its 74th year of continuously producing grand opera during the 2014-15 Season. The main stage operas of the season include: Giacomo Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, November 15 – December 6; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Così fan tutte, January 24 – February 14; Georges Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers (Les pêcheurs de perles), February 28 – March 14; and Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Consul, May 9-16.
Tickets may be purchased by phone at 800-741-1010 or online at FGO.org.
