Timo's is now TK's at the Villa Mayfair
May is National Burger Month and the “Angry Burger” at TK’s at the Villa Mayfair is taking center stage. Conceived while the restaurants owner’s children were playing a game of “Angry Birds," the team thought it would be fun to play off the game and name the burger accordingly. Now TK’s “Angry Burger” is a perennial favorite. So, what is their secret?
Is it the cold, crisp lettuce that sits below the meticulously prepared, certified Angus beef burger? Could it be the perfectly ripened slices of tomato, slivered red onion, or the gently warmed, aged cheddar, melted so perfectly it oozes down the sides of the generous 8-ounce patty? Perhaps it is TK’s secret weapon—the “fancy sauce” (a blend of house-made aioli, fresh tomatoes and cornichons)—so delicious that it’s said by some to be addictive. Put it all on a fresh baked, lightly toasted brioche bun. You can’t go wrong.
And now—only for National Burger Month (May 1 – May 31, 2014)—experience the renowned “Angry Burger” for $12 and get a 17 oz. Radeberger draft beer for $2.
TK’s represents the “T” and the “K” in Timo Kipp, the namesake and owner of TK’s at the Villa Mayfair, who explains that most of his closest friends call him TK, and that he really wanted the restaurant’s name to reflect that close connection between the two. Plus with the lawsuit brought on by the Timo restaurant up north, it probably didn't hurt to change the name.

To celebrate FAM night, happy hour at TK's will be extended until 10 pm (only at the bar). It's nice to see so many things going on back at that end of town, as that's basically where Gallery Walk night started.
From the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery to the new Art Box and Out of Africa and the MCM Academy concerts and the TK happy hour, it's a big part of FAM night now.

I have friends visiting from London and we had dinner there last night. Everyone enjoyed!
Timo's or TK, the name doesn't matter, the service is great, that burger is killer and the happy hour beers always go down smooth.
They need to get those kick-ass wings back on the menu!!!
What a hidden gem! I am just finishing a wonderful dinner and experience here now. I had the pad Thai and it was better than I could have hoped for. I will definitely be back!!
