FAM Night back with more fashion, art and music
Coconut Grove’s newest merchant – Art Box – will host fashion designer, Rachel Weisberg’s, exclusive summer collection and local musician Joey Halegua of Heavy Medicine Hammock for an all-inclusive FAM event, which will include an interactive fashion-drawing workshop for all ages. Inspired by environmental and social consciousness, Rachel Weisberg creates unique and sustainable hand-made apparel, jewelry, and home products Joey Halegua of Heavy Medicine Hammock is marked by improvisation of a broad range of musical influences.
Returning participant, Design Bar on Commodore Plaza, is set to feature Oliver Gal debuting their new collection of fashionable prints with acrylic hand brushed paintings at exclusive prices only for FAM goers. On Fuller Street, Bazaar will introduce the new summer line from Pure of Heart featuring hand made drawings of elephants over the softest tees. Portions of proceeds fund La Ventana de los Cielos, a local Autism Fund.
Additionally, Out of Africa at the Mayfair in the Grove will present lusciously colorful works of Grove artist Karen Deilke. The Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery will host "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words", a one-man photography retrospective of the work of J. Arturo Fridman M.D., whose unique personal vision will inspire and amaze you with his stunning photographs all specifically and framed personally by him. Refreshments will be served.
Other participants include Blu Moon Studio with an amazing new installation, CocoWalk, Oasis Lounge and Hookah Bar, Boswell Mourot Fine Art, CocoWalk, The Bookstore in the Grove, Nikki’s Beachhouse Boutique, Ramona LaRue by Arianne, FrameWorks, Allie and Chica, and Brenda’s Boutique.
And of course, you must stop at the Coconut Grove Drum Circle at the corner of Commodore Plaza and Grand Avenue, where everyone winds up at some time or other during the night to enjoy the beat of the drum, to enjoy dancing, hula hooping and more.
FAM Night is from 7 to 10 pm. Pick up a map at any of the Grove locations so you can find out where all the goings on are.
