Ben & Jerry's doling out free ice cream
Today, the Ben & Jerry's truck stopped by Coconut Grove, giving out free ice cream as a promotion, they did the same thing last Friday. Today, there were much more people, mostly the office workers from Mayfair, but Ben & Jerry's was here for everyone to enjoy.
We announced it yesterday on the Grapevine Instagram site @coconutgrovegrapevine, perhaps you saw it. If not, why not hop on over to Instagram now and follow us, so you'll get to see the next great promotion before anyone else knows about it.
It's weird to see this long lineup where so many of us used to hang out at Paul's sunglass hut. This used to be such a thriving area, sort of quiet now until the ice cream truck arrives.

Free goes a long way.something the grove should take note of with the parking issues.just by providing free parking in the grove would make such a huge diffrence.
people will do just about anything for a freebie.
Wasn't that the corner of a Chinese food restaurant along time ago? Chrysanthemum? I remember that place was goo.
Agreed with the parking. The only thing to mention though is that if say the grove designated 100 spaces as "free" they would quickly be all gobbled up by employees. If your a kid going to work at the Gap or movies for a 6 hr shift, free is better than $10. And those employees' cars don't move....
The Gap has been gone for a while. The movie theater surely subsidizes employee parking, no?
The Gap is not gone.
Huh? The Gap has a huge store in Cocowalk. I can't say regarding movie theater employee parking, but you get the point no? There are many, many, many employees in the Grove that would love free parking. And if you're a restaurant worker you might have to get to work at 10AM and not leave till late at night. There's a reason why when you go to a superstore at opening there are already 50 cars in the parking lot...
Sorry, I was thinking about the Guess store.
Hollywood declared free parking in their downtown area a few years ago to draw people back in after a lot of effort had been made to make that area nice. It worked. It was packed with people, and now, even with parking charges again, it's still very busy and popular.
