Purim is a holiday celebrated each year commemorating the story of Queen Esther and her victory of Haman and the decree to annihilate the Jewish people some 2,500 years ago in ancient Persia. Purim is considered the most joyful holiday on the Jewish calendar. Costumes are worn, gift baskets are exchanged and extra charity is given to those individuals whom are less fortunate to ensure they can be included in the festive holiday experiences.
