Discussing the Grove Isle development plan

The next Village Council meeting is Tuesday, March 25 at the Frankie Rolle Center. It starts at 7 pm.  One major item on the agenda is the Grove Isle dispute. The new owners plan on adding a new building, the current owners in the other three buildings are against it. I'm not sure why Grove Isle is airing its dirty laundry in public like this, as I don't feel anything can be done outside of legal action. But it is an interesting topic.

Other than blocking views of current owners, I don't think the new building will effect traffic that much, as there probably was more traffic with the in and out of guests from the current hotel which will be knocked down and replaced by the new building. But I can see how the new building, pretty by itself, weird and ugly along the other three buildings, can be a problem for neighbors who don't want all that development just feet from where they live now and then having a large ugly building blocking their views.

Chuck Kaplanek, guest speaker, will talk on this subject. I don't think the Village Council can make a resolution for or against the construction, can they? Maybe they can.

Also, on the agenda:

Guest Speakers;
Lara De Souza (Parks Director)
Marc Coleman (North grove HOA)

Project updates:
Parks (Lara De Souza) 7 pm
CVS (Marc Coleman)
Trolley Barn/CBA (Linda & Kate)
Crime watch (Thad & Commander)
Playhouse (Javier)

The Frankie Rolle Center is located at 3750 S. Dixie Highway.

Probably not, traffic on Bayshore Dr. s already a mess anyway.

It would block water views not only for some of the 500 GI residents, but also for the many more hundreds of those who live on floors high enough to see some water all over North Grove.

Will not affect much? I guess construction in your eyes is not as bad. You have an article today titled Impossible to navigate the Grove. Since you used this word, I guess it's fair game. You are a moron and should give more thought to your comments.
Grove Isle only has a two way bridge and one street inside. 1 lane each way.
Have you given any thought to what will happen to the property values of the 500+ residents in the short to medium term???
Oh, so traffic can't get much worse??? Have you driven down Bayshore??? It can get much worse. Have you thought about the medical and emergency needs of much of the senior residents in Grove Isle? (which by the way are many).

Grove Isle must now be worth half a billion $. Messing with something this big should be a big deal.
