"Bike train" part of Coconut Grove Bike to Work Day

Friday, March 28 is Coconut Grove Bike to Work Day. A "bike train" will begin in South Beach, continue across the Venetian Causeway and follow the M Path parallel to US 1 into Coconut Grove. The route map is here.

In the Grove, Arquetectonica (who purchased the Engle Building recently, by the way), will host a free breakfast for all participants and the 24 Hour Fitness on Grand Avenue will give all riders a three-day pass so they can use their facilities to shower and change, and work out if they wish.

Along with Arquitectonica the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District, and the City of Miami Bicycle Action Committee along with Bike Coconut Grove are sponsoring the event.

Bike Coconut Grove is a new group in the Grove founded by Hank Sanchez-Resnik. Hank runs the free bike valet each Thursday at the Grove Green Market. The Market is next to the Playhouse, in the parking lot from 2 to 8 pm. Bike Coconut Grove's goals are to have the Commodore Trail completed, to ensure safety for bicyclists and pedestrians and to promote traffic calming throughout the village.

For more info, you can contact Hank at info@bikecoconutgrove.org or just stop by the Green Market.
