MAMA; a unified voice for the museums
The directors of seven South Florida art museums have formed the Miami Art Museums Alliance (MAMA), leveraging their collective efforts.
Terry Schechter a longtime arts advocate is the executive director. The goal is to get everyone involved and to make the museums and art a part of everyone's lives.
ARTtuesdays at Books & Books in Coral Gables is hosting MAMA members at its February panel, moderated by Ms. Schechter. The panel will explain how they will engage and build audiences for its institutions, expand funding sources for the museum sector, explore opportunities for collaboration and find ways to openly share information and expertise
Panelists are:
Brian Dursum, Director and chief curator of the Lowe Art Museum at UM.
Joel Hoffman, Executive Director of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami.
Cathy Leff, Director of The Wolfsonian-Florida International University.
ARTtuesdays programs are open to the public, free of charge, and meet on the second Tuesday of the month, from September through May. Books & Books, Coral Gables hosts the event. ARTtuesdays guests enjoy a 10% dinner discount in the cafe, graciously donated by Books & Books.
This event is Tuesday, February 11 at 6 pm.
Books & Books is located at 265 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables.
