Waldorific July

Where's Waldo? He's all over Coral Gables!. The famous children’s book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting 25 different Gables businesses this July. Those who spot him can win prizes, including stickers, book coupons and more. From Peek-A-Boo Boutique at 1911 Ponce de Leon Blvd. to Leica Store Miami at 372 Miracle Mile, from Chandler’s Place at 166 Alhambra Circle to Louis Alexander Jewelers at 95 Andalusia Ave., Waldo figures will be well hidden in local business establishments.

To participate, pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Coral Gables” passport with the names of all the participating sites, and get their passport stamped or signed for each Waldo you spot. The first 100 Waldo seekers to get their passports stamped or signed at ten or more sites can bring their passports to Books & Books to collect prizes. Collecting store stamps or signatures at all 25 businesses will entitle diligent seekers to entry in a grand prize drawing on July 31, with the top prize being a 6-volume deluxe set of Waldo books.

Where’s Waldo is the creation of Martin Handford, whose entertaining drawings of crowd scenes swept the world in 1987. Since then, the Where’s Waldo books have held a cherished spot on bookstore shelves the world over. There are now over 58 million Waldo books in print worldwide and they’ve been translated into eighteen languages. An entire generation has grown up searching for Waldo and his cast of wandering companions.

There is no charge to participate, and the hunt lasts for the entire month of July. For more information, call Books & Books at 305.442.4408.

More amazing free activities for children in Coral Gables. Wake up City of Miami! City of Miami so out of the loop of reality! We went to Peacock Park as suggested by our Commissioner at that recent North Grove meeting about kids activities in the Grove and we saw Homeless people snorting lines on the table during the day. Police were called but do you think we will going back there with children NOT! That's where the so called one room Community Center will be. Bring your kids to watch the homeless snort lines yeah!
