Grovites enjoy Howl in the Wood at Shell Lumber

As I left Big Howl in the Wood on Saturday night, there was still droves of people coming in. Big Howl in the Wood at Shell Lumber, has to be one of the most popular Coconut Grove events of the year, it comes around each Spring and this 4th annual event proves that it is up there as one of the Grove's signature events along with the King Mango Strut, Arts Festival and Great Grove Bed Race. Above is this year's opening act, "Avocado Estate," from the UM School of Music, they are an old time string band with an incredible sound.

At left are David McBurnett and Zip Robertson, Zip is part of the Solar Dogs, last night's main act. At right are Matthew Kertesz and Nelsy Rivas, both of Shake-A-Leg Miami, the beneficiary of last night's event.

Artists, Audrey Scott and Uta, were on hand to show and sell their popular art. Big Howl in the Wood is everything -- a live concert, art show, dance and more.

The Grove's own Solar Dogs, took to the stage later in the evening.

Mark Samuelian and Laure Dominguez came out to enjoy the evening. At right, one of the guests partakes of Sakaya Kitchen, one of the vendors selling food. There was also pizza and Pop Nature, natural frozen ice pops.
