Get in on Lake Worth's Mail Art project
This reminds me of our mail art project in Coconut Grove in 2009. AnnaMaria ran that from her gallery. I remember her dragging me to the post office to mail off some mail art and insisting on having the stamps hand stamped. So while there was a long line of people, which is always the case at the Grove branch post office, I took photos as she insisted the clerk find the hand stamp and stamp the stamps the good old fashioned way!
I fondly remember the red shoe, which came in as mail art. The mailman literally brought in a red high heel with stamps on it, it came from Germany that way!
Speaking of AnnaMaria, you all will remember her from the Windisch-Hunt Gallery on Grand Avenue, where it seemed like that was the center of the Grove for such a long time. AnnaMaria is in Lake Worth now and does this cool blog, one of my fav's called Lake Worth Every Minute. It was up for a New Times Best of Award recently. Check it out, she really puts her heart and soul into the blog and it shows.
