Are you ready for Hot Chili and Cool Cars?

Hot Chili, Cool Cars is back at The Barnacle on March 10. This is always a fun event, lots of vintage cars take over the back lawn and there is plenty to eat. There's not just chili, but The Barnacle serves up their famous hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs, too! Here's a look at last year's event.

There is also live music and kids krafts. For a small donation, visitors can sample the firehouse chilis and vote for their favorite. You can vote for your favorite car, too. Local restaurants will have chili for sale and will participate in “people’s choice” and “judges’ choice” competitions. Proceeds from the chili tasting go toward fire protection for The Barnacle.

Hot Chili, Cool Cars is an official event of Dade Heritage Days, a celebration of Miami-Dade’s historic places. This event is sponsored by The Barnacle Society, Inc., a volunteer non-profit, citizen-supported organization created to generate public awareness, education, and financial support for the preservation and maintenance of The Barnacle Historic State Park.

Hot Chili, Cool Cars on Sunday, March 10 from 11 am to 4 pm. The event is included with regular park admission: $2 ages 6 and up; under 6 free. Blankets, lawn chairs, picnics, and well behaved pets on hand-held six-foot leashes are welcome. Alcohol and fireworks are not permitted.

The Barnacle, located at 3485 Main Hwy in Coconut Grove. For additional information call 305-442-6866 or visit www.TheBarnacle.org.
