Grove's favorite block party -- Gifford Lane Art Stroll

The Gifford Lane Art Stroll is coming back this spring for another day of old fashioned Grove fun. It's being held Sunday, March 3 from noon to 5 pm. As you know, this is one day that all the locals look forward to. It's an old type block party where everyone knows your name.
Art, food, music and neighbors all take over the one block of Gifford from Oak to Day Avenues.

This Friday February 1, is the final day to enter. If you are an artist or sell crafts, you may set up on the street and share (and sell) your wares. The entry fee is $50.00.

Last year over 60 artists exhibited at the Stroll. There will be live bands and a crowd of Coconut Grove Art Lovers who really look forward to an afternoon of cool art they can buy, good food, and plenty to drink. I am quite partial to Dave Collins' green Cucumber Punch. Always the most popular thing at the event.
Each year, there is a contest for the poster art. Grove artist Valentina Ramos won this year, "Eva the Peacock" is the featured art, shown here.

This is a worthwhile charitable event.  All participating artists/vendors are asked to donate 10% of their sales to the designated charities: St. Alban’s Child Enrichment Center and St. Stephen’s AIDS Ministry.
