Art, music, drums and a full moon for Gallery Walk

It's that time again, this Saturday, August 4 is the Coconut Grove Gallery Walk. From 7 to 10 pm, galleries all over the Grove are offering up their best -- art, music, refreshments and a lot of mixing and mingling.

This painting is called "Poem of Loss," by California artist Jeff Faust. It's one of the new pieces at the Boswell Mourot Fine Art Gallery at 3162 Commodre Plaza. The gallery is a nice, large space, two floors and Teresa Sorrentino is a great curator. Stop in for a glass of wine and enjoy the exhibit.

Speaking of Commodore Plaza, the Coconut Grove Drum Circle has moved from their Mayfair location to the end of Commodore Plaza at Grand Avenue, across from Frameworks. Join them! Stop by to drum, dance and enjoy the full moon! It should draw a large crowd now that they are out in the open in such a central location.

From the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery, to Rodez at CocoWalk, Blu Moon on Main Highway and the various galleries on Commodore Plaza, it's sure to be a great event! Come out and support our local galleries and help support Coconut Grove!

Earlier in the day is the Lewis Art Studio open house. Stop by to enjoy the students' projects.

It's tax holiday weekend, maybe you can get the galleries to drop the sales tax when you purchase something, it's not part of the state's tax holiday, but tell them that we sent you and maybe they'll not charge you the extra 7%!
