Judging the art is a long, tedious affair
I stopped by the Coconut Grove Arts Festival office on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to sit in on the judging for February's show. I wasn't a judge, I just sat in the small group of friends who stopped by to watch. Above, board member Lilia Garcia explains the process to the judges. Each day has a different group of four, with Lilia, who vote on the art to be exhibited. I explain it all in detail in a post from last year's process here.
It's a quiet, and intense couple of days, those of us who talk in the audience are shushed real fast. The judges need to concentrate as the art is projected quite rapidly, before their eyes.
The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is February 18-20, 2012.
