It's time for Grovetoberfest @ Peacock Park

Grovetoberfest, the big beer/Oktoberfest event is this weekend. The place is Peacock Park on Saturday, October 15 from 3 to 7 pm.

The star of the festival is beer, great beer! There is a wide selection of craft beers that you probably have not tried before. And that's where you come in, you, as a fan of beer and the Grovetoberfest will vote for the Fan Favorite of 2011. Each beer booth will be vying for your vote. You'll receive the voting tokens when you enter the festival.

You'll vote in three categories: America Craft, Import and Wild Card.

There will be plenty of music on the big stage with Funkette and the Spam Allstars and you'll meet Brew Box Miami, the leader in home brewing. Their staff will be showcasing different home brews and styles of home brews. plus, they'll be sampling dozens of home-crafted beer from individuals and brew teams. Live brewing demos will happen at 3 and 6 pm.

At the Milam's Kitchen Lab top Miami chefs will help visitors learn more about food and beer. You'll find cooking demos, food and beer pairing suggestions, recipes including beer and one-on-one Q & A sessions. Chefs include: Chef Ralph Pagano, Executive Chef, STK; Chef Michael Jacobs, Chef/Owner, Strategic Hospitality Group; Chef Alberto Cabrera, Executive Chef and Partner, The Local and Chef Pastor Sequera, Head Chef and Owner, LeFragole.

There is so much more including a VIP lounge and even a complimentary safe ride home for you if needed. They thought of everything!

There is plenty of parking in Coconut Grove at surface lots and parking lots surrounding the village. There's also a shuttle service from Metrorail.
