Helping needy children and families at This 'N That

this-that
The ladies at the This 'N That thrift store at 3155 Commodore Plaza were getting ready for one of their periodic backpack giveaways for needy children.

A few times a year, they gather stuffed animals and hygiene products along with handmade pillows and other toys and they stuff them in backpacks and give them to the children in need. This past year they provided 700 school uniforms to children.

Above are Joan Bounds, Liz Gallagher and store manager Cara Crawford. The ladies also tell me that they feed the needy every Thursday through the Plymouth Congregational Church Ladies Fellowship.

This is how the funds are used when you shop in the store and also, keep in mind, your hand-me-downs, that are sold in the store, are what brings the funds in.

The This 'N That Shop is open from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Donations of quality items such as small furniture, clothing, books, toys, household items, glassware, collectibles, and jewelry are gratefully accepted during store hours or at Plymouth Church after the service on the third Sunday of the month. For pickups of large loads, call the shop at 305.448.2114.
