Shake-A-Leg holds fundraiser at Chili's CocoWalk
The first of many fundraisers for Shake-A-Leg Miami (SALM) was held at Chili's in Cocowalk on Wednesday night. Ten percent of every dollar spent went back to SALM! Above, bottom row: Lauren Levy, Elizabeth Senk and Nelsy Rivas; top row: Richard Issa and Ed Ferenczi.
Shake-A-Leg is going to make this a monthly event. It's a great way to fund raise, by turning a happy hour into a donation generator. Chili's offered 2 for 1 happy hour drink specials and they donated a tray of appetizers. From left, Debbie Fernandez, Angelina Gimenez, Michelle Niemeyer, Richard Issa.
SALM uses the marine environment to improve the health, independence and quality of life for all with an emphasis on individuals with physical, developmental and economic challenges. They have moonlight sails and dive programs and also offer a Sailing Camp for kids. Above are Nelsy Rivas and Joanna Cardwell, two of the SALM crew.
A great opportunity to meet the team and enjoy the facility is this Sunday, which is Community Bay Day at Shake-A-Leg. Above is some family fun and fundraising as Dylan, Drew and Jordyn get to enjoy a night out. They're learning to give back at an early age.
Dennis Brandt, Lari Levey, Don DuChateau, and Ed Benitez, SALM volunteers.
Francie Shefter with her honey came all the way from DC for the fundraiser and, yes, maybe to visit their friend Michelle Jacobs who you see to the right.
