New Zealand vs. South America at wine tasting

Tonight's Friday Night Wine Series hosted by wine educator, Barry Alberts, at the Sonesta (2889 McFarlane Road) features the "Southern Hemisphere: Wines of New Zealand vs. South America."

Ten wines of the Southern Hemisphere will be sampled. Compare varietals from New Zealand against Chile and Argentina. All wines are high quality from small producers.

The tasting takes place on the roof deck at the Panorama Restaurant and Sky Lounge on the hotel’s eighth floor, offering one of the most spectacular panoramic views of Biscayne Bay and Dinner Key in South Florida.

The tastings occur every Friday night from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. Cost is $15 and reservations are not required. Each week, 10 wines are featured by theme, grape type, region or country of origin and includes a complimentary artisan cheese platter.

Along with the Wine Tasting Series,the Panorama Restaurant & Sky Lounge offers an optional fixed price three-course dinner menu.
