Six children from St. Alban's Enrichment Center ranging from ages four and five years old, have come together under the supervision of Arts To Literacy founders Joseph C. Grant, Jr. and Mary McBeth to conceptualize, write and illustrate their very own children’s book. The Children are a part of a larger project funded by United Way Center for Excellence on a $3.5 million Department of Education Grant to implement and test the effectiveness of the "Early Reading First" (ERF) program in three of its classrooms.

The children’s book titled "Spider-man Saves The Day” will be on display during the 2011 Gifford Lane, Art Stroll this Sunday. The Books will be raffled off. Tickets are only $1 dollar each. The proceeds from the raffle will go towards assisting in the education of the bright young minds of St. Alban's Head Start program.

St Alban’s Executive Director and C.E.O. Dr. Franklyn F. Sands' vision for St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center is for it to become one of the premiere Early Childhood Educational Institutions in the southeastern United States, using Head Start's "High Scope" curriculum in all of its classrooms for children from low income neighborhoods. St. Alban's Enrichment Center is located at 3465 Brooker Street In Coconut Grove West, Miami, Florida. For more information go to
