Village of Center Grove meets tomorrow night
The meeting is at the Sailing Club (2990 S. Bayshore Drive) from 7 to 8:30 pm. This will be the first meeting with the new board, since the October elections.
On the agenda:
Crimewatch report - Introduction of Commander Richard Gentry, NET Officers Carrillo and Vasquez. Crimewatch meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at St. Stephen's Church in the Great Room. Check website http://www.grovecrimewatch.org/ for upcoming meetings and police numbers.
NET Administrator Liza Walton - check your neighborhood, come with a short list for Liza such as graffiti on cable boxes, mailboxes, potholes, code violations, downed signs, overgrown properties and swales, trash problems, etc.
Carlos Lopez-Cantera, State Representative, will speak briefly.
Art and events report: Trina Collins will announce upcoming Grove events.
Mercy Hospital expansion proposal: Brief update by Nathan Kurland. Comm. Sarnoff's office will schedule a Town Hall meeting for this at some point if it becomes necessary. Plans can be viewed at the NET office. We have a report and some photos here.
Brief discussion on updates on Village: reconfiguration of downtown streets, traffic circle at Grand and Mary, possible Virginia Street closure, changes in Village business district, widening of sidewalks, replacement of trees, new planters, and possible elimination of certain on-street parking; discussion by residents and affected businesses.
BID Update: David Collins: pending improvements and proposals throughout business district, including Grove branding.
Since they have now gone to quarterly meetings, their next meeting will be Wednesday, April 20, 2011.
