Poster unveiled for St. Stephen's Arts Festival
Last night the St. Stephen' Arts Festival poster was unveiled at a party at St.Stephen's Episcopal Church. From left: Ed Ferenczi, Camilo Salazar and Bonell Denton, party of the arts festival's executive committee.
As part of this year's festival, a silent auction will be held to raise money for the homeless. 10-year-old Ava Salazar came up with the idea, and it turned into a sail painting project. As you can see above, a number of recycled sailboat sails were painted by participating artists and the money raised will go 100% to the cause. More on Ava's concept here.
Bill Ritzi, director of art for the festival and Daisy Lewis, festival director, unveiled the art that is being used for the poster this year -- it is a boat scene painted by Virginia artist David Yuan. David was not present last night, but he'll be at the festival which is February 19-21.

Here is the actual poster next to the original painting.
The painted sails lined one large area of the garden party and people bid on them throughout the night. They will also be on display during the arts festival for bidding, as well.
Rafael Gutierrez checks out the chocolate covered strawberries, something that is at the poster unveiling every year. There was Asian food, being served hot, on the spot, too.
