"Fake" magazine sales people are out again
They are dressed nicely, in shirt and tie and come to your door, they have a piece of paper with them, but no magazines, no brochures, nothing actually pertaining to magazine sales. They say they are collecting to raise money for college. This is similar to the kids who go around asking for money for non-existent sports teams.
These "students" and "athletes" actually don't make much money, they hand it over to adult scammers who use the younger people to do the dirty work. Rather than just stand on corners and beg for money, which would make more sense, they do it by scamming in the name of school projects.
Some of the "magazine sales people" try to get into homes and do more than just make a few bucks off of you. If you see this happening in your neighborhood, please call the police at 311.
