Stupa going up at Zen Village
The Stupa is almost complete over at Zen Village. Ground breaking took place a couple of weeks ago. Permits and the city was involved and it's smooth sailing now.
According to Wikipedia, a Stupa is is a mound-like structure containing Buddhist relics, typically the remains of a Buddha or saint, used by Buddhists as a place of worship. There are no remains in this Stupa. It is said that the Stupa can prevent war, sickness, hunger and it can bring peace, accumulate merits and uplift spirituality.
The Life Tree, the red part, was added a week ago, you can see it being installed here, on an overcast day. Just as it was installed, a photo was taken and you can see the whole sky lit up. The Consecration Ceremony for the Enlightenment Stupa is Wednesday, December 8 at 7am. (His Holiness the Karmapa's 900th Birthday). Most Venerable Choje Lama Phuntsok Rinpoche and Lamas will be present. Please bring offerings of flowers, fruits, sweets, and monetary offerings to Ritual Master Rinpoche. Zen Village is at 3570 Main Highway.
